How to Adjust the Security Settings for Internet Explorer

1. Double-click the My Computer icon.

   

2. Double-click the Control Panel icon.

   

3. Double-click the Internet Options icon.

   

4. Click on the Security tab.

   

5. You may change the security settings for each zone by selecting them at the top and moving the slider up and down. High security is higher on the slider, and low security is lower. .

   Note: The optimal setting for the Internet Zone would be Medium. A setting of High would disable some functionality on web pages which make use of cookies, ActiveX, and other commonly used web technologies. A setting of Low would possibly leave your computer open to tampering with by malicious web site authors.
