Configure Outlook Express Server Settings

Outlook Users you must make sure you do not have the "Leave a Copy of Messages on Server" checked in your mail settings. This setting is very important. If it is set incorrectly, copies of all emails you download will be left on the server which will eventually cause your mailbox to fill up, incoming emails will bounce and it could potentially render your web site out of service. There is a $25.00 fee to delete the email if GregRobert must do do this for you.

Although this is a tutorial for OUTLOOK EXPRESS, it should be similar for all versions of Outlook. If you use another personal email program, please check your preferences and/or options for a similar setting and insure that you are not leaving mail on the server.

Step 1:
To check this setting go to:
Tools > Accounts in your Outlook mail program.
OE settings
Step 2:
Click the MAIL Tab along the top and then highlight your account name and select the PROPERTIES button on the right.
OE Settings
Step 3:
Select the ADVANCED Tab which will appear after you click the PROPERTIES Tab. Look down to where you see the word Delivery, and make sure this box is unchecked. If checked, uncheck and click the Apply and then the OK button.
